Welcome to my blog. My first post is going to be about the meaning behind my handle and the “saying” if that makes sense.
What is the meaning behind la fleur de fevrier?
In French, it simply means “the flower of February”. My birthday is on February 14th (yes that is valentines day) and I have always loved flowers growing up. My perfumes are all a combination of floral and fruity notes. Therefore that’s how I ended up naming my Instagram handle. I also love love love the french language and wanted to name my Instagram handle in a french word.
Where did you find the inspiration for your handle?
There was a k-pop idol named DoYeon from WekiMeki, and her Instagram handle was @lafilledhiver which is where I was like that’s cute
What is the meaning behind “i love you in february”?
My favourite artist, her name is Yerin Baek, and one of her albums is called “Love you on Christmas”.
That’s where I got the inspiration from. I love her voice and I love her style, most of all, I love how creative and adventurous she is with her art and her creative direction. This includes the aesthetics but also the method by which she approaches music. Listening to her music during my gap year helped me in discovering more things about myself, and her music just makes me so happy.
What is the meaning behind “I am not your winter anymore”?
My favourite artist, her name is Yerin Baek, and one of her songs is titled “I am not your ocean anymore”.
The song is about letting go of the memories you had with someone, moving on, and it’s about wishing the other party the best. I liked the meaning behind it, so I replaced ocean with winter which happens to be my favourite season. I get more excited during the winter, and so that’s where the inspiration comes from.
What is your connection to February?
February is a special month for me.
First off, every 4 years, there is an extra day in February, a special day that comes every 4 years. It’s also the shortest month of the year and passes by so quickly that every day is just that much more special.
February also has valentines day, a day that universally represents romance and love. It also has family day in Canada and depending on the year, Lunar New Year is celebrated in February.
I have 5 family members, and 4/5 including me, have their birthday within the 28 days of February each year. The month of February calls for celebration. We have a party every week because each of our birthdays is spaced out by a week. Without February, there is no family.
Although it’s a short month, it’s a month full of special days and celebrations, all in my favourite season winter.
This is my special connection to February.
